The annual litter picking exercise was conducted on Saturday 14th April 2018 and was another success for Forthampton; this time with around 25 volunteers helping to collect litter and make the village clean and tidy once more. Amongst the stranger items collected was a refrigerator!  Many thanks to all the volunteers.

The annual Christmas lunch of the Forthampton & District WI was held at the Broadway Hotel on Tuesday 12th December. 20 members enjoyed an excellent meal as well as a celebratory drink and an interesting quiz, won by Marian Saxton and Sue Neville.

The first of what we hope will be an annual Festive Lunch was held in the Village Hall on Sunday 26th November and was an outstanding success! The organising team did a brilliant job of decorating the hall, cooking and serving a delicious meal, and providing fun and entertainment. An amazing event all round.

Dessert Island EveningDessert Island Evening
"A very successful "Dessert Island Evening" was held in church on Friday 28th April 2017
with various people choosing a favourite piece of music for everyone to hear. And, of course, the wine and
the desserts were excellent! The evening raised nearly £400 towards maintaining the fabric of the church
and the Parochial Church Council (PCC) wishes to thank everyone for their support"
WI Bloxham Celebration Litter Picking Day<<<<<<<Another very successful annual “Litter Picking Day” was held on Saturday 18th March 2017.
Thank you to all those who volunteered. As usual, the size of the pile of litter surprised us all but we now have a clean village again!

>>>>>>At their March 2017 meeting the Forthampton and District WI were very pleased to celebrate both
the 60th wedding anniversary and 62 year's membership of Forthampton WI of Heather Bloxham. A posy
of flowers, an embroidered silk box containing tree lily bulbs, and a certificate were gifts for Heather, and
everyone raised a glass and shared a piece of her special cake!

 r Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday

The “tea party” in the Village Hall to mark and celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday was held on
Saturday 11 June 2016 and was a great success. Around 50 residents were there to enjoy the tea, sandwiches and cakes,
(as well as the odd glass of wine!), take part in a quiz and generally celebrate the occasion. And, as you will see from
the attached photo, Her Majesty the Queen called in briefly to pose for photos ? A huge vote of thanks to Lynda Remmer
for organising the event and producing much of the food, to Audrey Peters for baking all the delicious cakes, and to everyone
else who helped to make the occasion a success.
